Vision Trips to Argentina

Invitation

You are invited to visit our companion synod in Argentina! As we continue to deepen our relationship with the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Argentina and Uruguay (IELU), several Nebraska Synod-sponsored trips to Argentina are planned for the coming years:

  • Feb. 11–21, 2011: Consider an agricultural vision trip to Argentina. Have you ever wondered if other countries farm the same way we do here? Here’s your chance to find out! This special agricultural vision trip will take us to Buenos Aires as well as agricultural communities in the Patagonia region. The estimated cost is $2,500, which covers all airfare, transportation, lodging, and most meals.
  • Interested? Please e-mail the Rev. Martin Russell or contact Stephanie Lusienski in the Nebraska Synod office by e-mail or by phone at 402.896.5311. Group size is limited.

Tanzania

The deepening relationship between the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania and the Nebraska Synod have been growing in wide variety of ways since the two entered into a formal companion synod relationship in 1993.

Mission

The aim of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) is to enable people to know Jesus Christ and gain eternal life. The Church is built on Jesus Christ as its foundation, is guided by the Word of God as found in the Old and New Testaments, and is strengthened by the Sacraments. It does so in accordance with the Lutheran Confessions, which are true interpretations of the Word of God.

The ELCT, which is comprised of 20 dioceses, has a membership of more than 4.6 million in a population of nearly 38 million Tanzanians.
